Deandre Ayton was one of the big offseason acquisitions for the Los Angeles Lakers. And so far, he has exceeded most expectations. The big man was a question mark coming into the season, but he’s been cooking. And so has Ayton’s mom, who recently cooked up a lovely meal for the Lakers.
It’s the end of the year, and the holidays are almost here. The Lakers’ roster has seemed more tight-knit than ever, and the vibes have been immaculate. And Deandre’s mother, Andrea, made her contribution to team chemistry. She cooked an incredibly wholesome Jamaican holiday meal for the team.

“We’re cooking for the Lakers today. I’m excited, I’m overwhelmed,” Andrea said. “Jamaican cuisine is the best. We have oxtail, curry mutton, rice and peas, and fried chicken. And we have some jerk chicken.”
“You can’t get that nowhere,” the Lakers center was seen telling his teammates about his mother’s cooking. The players seemed to be enjoying themselves thoroughly, with Rui Hachimura claiming it’s the best fried chicken ever. Something like this is phenomenal for team-bonding.

LA has suffered some tough losses recently, but they continue to battle for the second seed in the Western Conference. The team is a key piece or two away from NBA championship contention, and the culture is clearly being put into place already. And if they do win it all, they’ll know what gave them the energy to do it.
