It’s the NBA playoffs already, and yet one player from the Washington Wizards is somehow catching strays from the media. Over in the Western Conference, the Houston Rockets are engaged in a dogfight with the Golden State Warriors in the first round. In that series, Rockets guard Jalen Green’s performance has been scrutinized, as the guard has had an up-and-down series.
Raheem Palmer of FanDuel TV discussed Green’s recent performance in the NBA playoffs. In his segment, the commentator remarked that Green’s erratic play has been disappointing… while comparing his lows to Jordan Poole.

“You got a guy in Jalen Green who on any given night, he can be Kobe Bryant… OR he can be Jordan Poole.”
Well, fans did not quite appreciate the perceived slander against Poole. Some fans were quick to point out that the Wizards star had better statistics than Green this season.
Others were tired of the disrespect that Poole was getting recently. @flipsanity said that, “Jordan Poole slander has to stop this is completely preposterous lmao”, while @AustinJamesIX pointed out that, “If Jalen Green played like Jordan Poole this entire series the Rockets would be up 3-1.

@sawaddeekadub perhaps summed up exactly how Wizards fans felt about this take, saying that, “Poole is way better than Jalen Green, Poole is [an] NBA champion [who] never shrinks in big moments 😓”.

In any case, Poole has a chance to shake comments like this and prove his worth. It’s hard to see how a 20.5 PPG season on solid efficiency can’t shake Poole’s supposed reputation as a bad player, but here we are. Hopefully, a season with more wins for the Wizards will also bring more recognition for Poole and the other players.
