PORTLAND, Ore. — The No. 7-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs (11-1) have one final nonconference game remaining, and it’s a meaningful one for the program and head coach Mark Few. The Zags take on Few’s alma mater, the Oregon Ducks (6-5), on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. at the Moda Center, home of the Portland Trail Blazers. The game will be available exclusively on NBC’s streaming platform, Peacock.
This year’s game marks the 27th all-time meeting between the two Pacific Northwest programs, but just the second since 1999. The most recent matchup came during the 2019-20 season at the Battle 4 Atlantis, when then-No. 8 Gonzaga beat then-No. 11 Oregon in overtime, 73-72, after the Ducks rallied from a 17-point first-half deficit. In the 1999-2000 season, the teams met at the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, where Oregon won 70-64 in the championship round.
