The Chicago Bulls are in a great position to bolster its roster and with trades beginning to circulate, they can do just that. There have been rumors throughout the year of a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade from the Milwaukee Bucks, but where can he wind up? Even if he does not join the Bulls, they can be involved with a massive trade proposal that improves their roster as a result. Let’s take a deeper dive into what the trade proposal actually is and why it makes sense for Chicago.

While on the Third Apron Podcast, Yossi Gozlan and CBS Sports’ Sam Quinn outlined a trade that involves Chicago moving on from a veteran player who has been in trade rumors. In a three-team trade involving the Bulls, the Indiana Pacers, and the Milwaukee Bucks, the Bulls add three players to their team. Below is the full trade proposal:

Chicago receives: Pascal Siakam, Kyle Kuzma, TJ McConnell

Indiana receives: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Vucevic

Milwaukee receives: Zach Collins, Kevin Huerter, Bennedict Mathurin, Obi Toppin, Isaac Okoro, 2026 first-round pick (CHI), 2032 first-round pick (CHI), 2027 first-round pick (IND), 2029 first-round pick (IND), 2031 first-round pick (IND)

This is a massive deal, so let’s discuss why the Bulls should be involved if this deal is on the table.

Why the Chicago Bulls should be involved on this trade

Chicago in this trade proposal, sees the team getting three players and moving on from Collins, Vucevic, Okoro, and two first-round picks. The front office likes to believe they can be in contention right now and this gets the team better for the 2025-26 season. Siakam is the most impactful player and getting him in the rotation for the next 2.5 years to be their veteran star. The franchise gets to also keep their young talent to build around him.

While the two first-round draft picks could be something, the Bulls could find themselves in the postseason with this move, making the picks less valuable. Having a core with Siakam included and including Kuzma and McConnell to be solid shooters makes the rotation a lot stronger overall. This gives the team a star in Siakam and a strong rotation that can begin to win games and make a push for a top-six seed in the second-half of the season.
