Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett is reuniting with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx in a New role that will involve business, community efforts, and content development, per Shams.
Garnett played 14 of his 21 NBA seasons in Minnesota.
Garnett and the franchise will hold a jersey retirement ceremony within two Seasons.
It’s a big deal because Garnett had been Distant from the Wolves ever since they, uh, his playing career ended.
He had a fallout with the ex-owner.
This has been well documented.
Now, the Wolves have new owners, and all of a sudden, everything feels like it’s come back.
I think this is important, Caroline.

Like I just Yeah.
…
Think you have to, especially for, for Franchises that have particular legends who are faces of the league for their chapter.
I just think about what it means for the community, for what it means to generations Fandom, for what it means to just be at events where, like, Kids and their parents go, and their parents are like, “Oh, “That was my favorite player,” like I think there’s more importance to this than just a, A sort of a little bit of a moment where you say, “Okay, We’re gonna do this as a shtick.”
Like I think this is actually important for Minnesota.
It does.
Its a full-circle moment.

And especially, I think, for mid-market or small market teams, I’m speaking from somebody who is from a city that is a small market or a mid-market.
That there’s so much connection that the people of that city have to those sports Teams and have to the greats of those sports teams.
So for Kevin Garnett to be able to come back and serve in this role and really bury All of the hatchets that have happened in, in throughout history that you just pointed out, and to be able to, to be not just a legend of the game, Not just a jersey that everybody wears walking around, not just a retired number, But to be an active member of the team, again, I think is…
It’s very special.
