Zach Thompson details his best player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday night’s game between the Rockets and Nuggets.

Saturday’s 10-game NBA schedule is built around a great triple-header on NBA TV. The action starts at 5:00 p.m. EST when the Nuggets host the Rockets in a matinee matchup in Denver. The Western Conference showdown offers plenty of star power on both sides of the matchup, providing plenty of player prop bets to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook.

In the big picture of the showdown, the Rockets are 1.5-point road favorites with the game total set at 236.5. The teams faced off on Monday in Denver as well, and the Nuggets won in overtime, 128-125. The Rockets also lost in overtime on Thursday night in New Orleans and have dropped three of four to sink to 16-8 on the season. The Nuggets are 20-6 on the year and have won six straight coming into this rematch.

Who will step up in this fun Western Conference matchup that could be a playoff series preview? Let’s dive into and check out my top player prop bets for Saturday night.

Rockets vs. Nuggets Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Alperen Sengun over 22.5 points (-117)

Sengun has been the focus of the Rockets’ offense and a key to their success this season. He is averaging 23.7 points per game in his 22 games and has scored at least 23 points in five of his last six games, scoring 22 points against the Clippers in the only game he fell short.

Against the Nuggets on Monday, he had 33 points, 10 assists and 10 boards, and he had 28 points in New Orleans on Thursday.

Sengun missed a few games with illness early in December, but he has been regularly going over this prop since his return. He should be able to put together another big game on Saturday night in his rematch with Jokic and the Nuggets.

Tim Hardaway Jr. under 2.5 3PM (-134)

Hardaway Jr. has been getting extra playing time with Christian Braun (ankle) and Aaron Gordon (hamstring) out, but he has still been typically coming in under this prop line.

He has been under this 3PM prop in four straight games and in 12 of his last 14 (86%). Hardaway only had two three-pointers in the matchup between these teams on Monday, even though he played 40 minutes in the overtime contest. He has typically been playing 25 to 27 minutes, and is averaging 2.4 3PM per game this season.

On Saturday, Peyton Watson (side) is questionable, and if he’s out there could be more time for Hardaway. But even with Watson out on Thursday, Hardaway still finished under this prop line.
He has the ability to get hot and go over this prop line, but the chances are much better that he stays under it again on Saturday.

Amen Thompson Over 24.5 Points + Rebounds (-122)

Thompson is averaging 17.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for a combined total of 24.9 points and rebounds per game. The third-year guard has been stronger over the last few games after a slightly slower start while adjusting to playing with Kevin Durant.

He had 23 points and nine rebounds against the Pelicans on Thursday after posting a double-double of 14 points and 12 boards against the Nuggets on Monday. He has gone over this prop in six of his last seven games and eight of his last 11.

Since he had so many rebounds against the Nuggets on Monday, I think he’ll be able to clear this prop line again on Saturday night, especially if he can carry over some of his efficiency from Thursday, when he went 11-for-14 from the field.

Bonus Parlay Pick: Bruce Brown less than 4.5 rebounds (-149)

If you’re shopping for a fourth leg for your Same Game Parlay (SGP) or SGPx, you can add in this last prop to boost your four legs to +750 odds as you can see below.

Brown could get a little more run if Watson is out, but he doesn’t normally get a ton of rebounds. He did go over this prop line with nine boards on Monday against Houston but only had two rebounds against Orlando on Thursday. He has been under this prop in 12 of his last 14 games, so even though this matchup was one of the exceptions, I see that more as an outlier than something he’ll be able to repeat. If Watson is available, the Brown and Hardaway under picks become even more likely.
