NEW ORLEANS — All of the Pacers’ mid-season signings and waivings have now come full circle as the injury-ravaged team has signed to a 10-day contract the first player it waived after opening day.

The Pacers announced Saturday that they have signed center James Wiseman to a 10-day hardship exception contract and released forward Gabe McGlothan from his 10-day deal, which he signed just three days ago. Wiseman will actually take over McGlothan’s 10-day deal, meaning he has six days left, during which the Pacers will play three games.

The event that forced the move, presumably, was an injury to third center Tony Bradley, who fractured his right thumb in Thursday’s loss to the Knicks. Bradley is listed as questionable on the injury report for Saturday’s game against the Pelicans in New Orleans.

McGlothan, who the Pacers promoted from the Noblesville Boom, did not get to appear in a game during his contract and will go back to the Boom. He does not have to clear waivers.

Wiseman first signed with the Pacers in July of 2024 but played in just one game with them in the 2024-25 season, tearing an Achilles tendon five minutes into his appearance in the season opener. The Pacers traded him to the Raptors in February to clear roster space — which they eventually used to sign Bradley — but the Raptors waived him and he was allowed to complete his injury rehab in Indianapolis. The Pacers signed him to another contract this offseason, this one a non-guaranteed deal. He played and started in one game, posting four points and four rebounds against the Grizzlies in Memphis on Oct. 25, but the Pacers had four centers at the time and needed guard depth so he was released for guard Mac McClung.

McClung was later released so the Pacers could sign Monte Morris, who was later waived so the Pacers could sign Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, who was later waived so the Pacers could sign Garrison Mathews.

Wiseman was the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA draft out of Memphis. He faced a series of injuries with the Golden State Warriors and was traded to the Pistons in 2023, then allowed to become a free agent. The 7-1, 240-pounder is averaging 9.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for his career.
