NEW YORK — Philadelphia 76ers big man Andre Drummond continues to show off the constant work he has put in on his 3-point shot this late in his career. The 14-year big man is putting up 1.4 attempts per game and is knocking down 41.2% of his 3-point attempts which is astonishing for him to come up with a 3-point shot at this stage of his career.
Drummond knocked down three triples in Friday’s 116-107 win over the New York Knicks which is a career-high in 3s made for him in a game. The former 2012 lottery pick out of UConn has put in hours and hours in the gym to make sure that shot gets better and the results have spoken for themselves.
“My team believes in me,” Drummond said. “I take the shot, and I shoot it, something I shoot every day in practice. I shoot hundreds and thousands of them every day. I shot it with confidence, and they went in.”
As the Sixers move forward, Drummond is going to continue to be an important factor to what this team wants to do. He has been terrific as a rebounder and big man off the bench and his constant 3-point improvement has been impressive for a player this late in his career. As Philadelphia takes steps forward, it will look to the consistent Drummond to continue making strides.
“It’s definitely satisfying,” Drummond finished. “Seeing the work that I’ve put in over the years start to come to fruition the past couple games.”
