The Celtics listed both Jaylen Brown (illness) and Jordan Walsh (illness) on their injury report as questionable ahead of their 7:30 p.m. Monday game against the Pacers. Jayson Tatum remains out with his Achilles rehab, as well.
Brown missed Saturday’s win over the Raptors, just the second time he sat a game this season. Walsh started the game in Toronto, but he didn’t play in the second half because of the illness.
If Walsh and Brown are unavailable, expect the C’s to lean on their wealth of wings. A mix of Sam Hauser, Josh Minott, Hugo Gonzalez and Baylor Scheierman will likely get more minutes if either or both of them are out. Gonzalez has thrived in the last two games, putting up some of the best nights of his young career.
The Celtics are on a two-game winning streak, including an impressive victory over the Raptors last time out. They’re currently 17-11, good for third place in the East. This week represents a big opportunity for the Celtics as they play the Pacers on Monday in Boston then on the road again Friday.
Indiana is just 6-22 this season for 14th place in the East. While the Pacers made an unexpected run to the 2025 NBA Finals, they’ve been hit hard by injuries. That includes to star guard Tyrese Haliburton, who has already been ruled out for the season with his own Achilles injury.
