PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers feature one of the stronger backcourts in the league with Tyrese Maxey leading the way alongside rookie VJ Edgecombe. Maxey is firmly in MVP conversations while Edgecombe has staked his claim for Rookie of the Year thus far.

Maxey is averaging 31.7 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 46.7% from the floor and 39.9% from deep while Edgecombe is averaging 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 43.2% from the floor and 38.3% from deep. The two of them have formed a great combination with their ability to shoot the ball, handle it, and get to the basket with ease. It’s an impressive duo.

When considering what the two of them can do, one has to wonder what they can eventually develop into at this early stage.

“One of the greatest ever,” Edgecombe explained. “We can do a lot of big things in this league. We just got to keep our head down, keep working, trust what God has planned for us, and just keep working. I think overall, years to come, I think if we stay together. We all just keep getting better and better each day . We’re gonna be good, but I can’t leave Mac (Jared McCain) out for sure.”

Per Cleaning the Glass, the Maxey-Edgecombe combination has a net rating of plus-7.3 as the two of them have put on an offensive show every time they step onto the floor. The Sixers are in a great position now with those two leading the way on the offensive end and with how they can do a number of different things to be effective.
