Michigan State women’s basketball is spending the days leading into the holiday break in Cherokee, North Carolina, participating in the Cherokee Invitational. In the first game of the event, the Spartans dominated.

Taking on Indiana State, Michigan State earned a very convincing 115-66 victory over the Sycamores. The Spartans shot an unbelievable 53.4% from the field including 44.1% on 15 made three point attempts.

Seven Spartans scored in double figures in the win and leading the way for the Spartans was Emma Shumate with 22 points. Isaline Alexander (15 points), Sara Sambolic (14 points), Jalyn Brown (13 points), Grace VanSlooten (12 points), Kennedy Blair (11 points) and Rashunda Jones (10 points) rounded out the double digit scoring for MSU. Blair had a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Now, the No. 24 ranked Spartans will have one of their toughest tests of the season when they take on No. 14 Ole Miss on Monday night, rounding out the Cherokee Invitational.
