STORRS, CT (WFSB) – There may be movement in this week’s AP Top 25 Men’s College Basketball Poll.
UConn held the No. 5 spot for several weeks because the rest of the top five was unbeaten.
That changed Saturday when No. 3 Duke lost to No. 19 Texas Tech, 82-81, at Madison Square Garden.
Duke fell to 11-1 on the season. That left Arizona, Michigan, and Iowa State as the only unbeatens.
UConn, meanwhile, improved to 12-1 following wins at DePaul in Chicago, 72-54, on Sunday and Butler in Hartford, 79-60, on Tuesday.
Both wins put the Huskies at 2-0 in Big East Conference play.

In UConn’s win over DePaul, Alex Karaban led all scorers with 21 points. Tarris Reed Jr. pitched in with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Huskies had to walk down an 8-point half time deficit to get the win.
UConn has about a week and a half off.
The team’s next game isn’t until New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 31, against Xavier. Tip off is at 5 p.m.
