The Name, Image and Likeness era of college sports has brought a bevy of changes to the Division-I landscape.

Players now have the ability to make six figures or more per season in college, greatly improving their chances for making a significant income of income before heading to the professional level of competition in their respective sports.

The 2025 college basketball season was one to remember for fans of the sport as coach Todd Golden’s underdog Florida Gators won the national championship over the Houston Cougars.

Now, with the 2025 NBA draft looming, the NBA has announced a historic low among players who declared for this season’s draft.

“Only 106 players entered the 2025 NBA Draft, per the NBA,” reporter Jonathan Givony stated on Tuesday.

“That’s the lowest number of early-entrants since 2015, down from a peak of 363 in 2021, just before the NCAA’s NIL era officially started.

“Incredible boon for college basketball to retain so much talent.”

The 2025 draft will be held on Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. ET with Duke freshman Cooper Flagg expected off the board first.

Flagg led Duke in most major categories on the stat sheet this past season and now appears poised to make history.
