Desmond Bane’s layup with 0.9 seconds left in overtime led Orlando to a 128-127 victory over the Utah Jazz on Saturday night. The Magic had blown a 19-point lead in regulation as the Jazz tied the game with 5.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter before Paolo Banchero misfired on a pull-up 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds left. Bane scored 32 points while Banchero added 23 points, nine rebounds, and nine assist,s and Anthony Black had 20 points. Noah Penda came off the bench for 13 points and 12 boards as well.
The Warriors snapped a three-game losing streak, holding off the visiting Phoenix Suns late for a 119-114 win. Stephen Curry logged 28 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, with Jimmy Butler scoring 25 points and Will Richard getting 20 off the bench. Draymond Green was ejected after getting his second technical foul early in the second quarter.
The Magic won’t have leading scorer Franz Wagner (left ankle) while Jalen Suggs (hip) is day-to-day. Golden State has already declared Al Horford (back) and Seth Curry (thigh) out for Monday night. Banchero averages 20.9 points and 8.4 rebounds, with Bane getting 19.0 points per game and Suggs posting 15.4 points and 4.8 assists a night. Curry scores an average of 28.8 points for the Warriors, Butler puts up 19.8 points per game, Jonathan Kuminga records 11.8 points and 6.2 boards per outing, and Green dishes 5.2 assists a contest.
