Brooklyn Nets rookie Ben Saraf erupted for a career high in scoring in the G League on Monday, leading the Long Island Nets to a victory over the OKC Blue.
Saraf produced a game-high 40 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal in the 116-97 win to close out the G League Winter Showcase at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. He went 14-of-26 from the field, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range, in 37 minutes.
The 26th pick in the 2025 NBA draft topped his previous season high of 21 points with the performance. He tallied 26 points in the second half alone as the Nets outscored the Blue 60-43 to seal the win, improving to 1-1 in the regular season.
Saraf has played sporadically to begin the season with Brooklyn, averaging 5.4 points, 2.8 assists and 1.6 rebounds on 35.5% shooting from the field in 12 appearances. He has scored in double figures twice, including a 12-point outing on Dec. 4 in a loss to the Utah Jazz.
The 19-year-old is averaging 14.9 points, 3.9 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals on 44.4% shooting from 3-point range in eight games with Long Island. He is one of 13 players to score at least 40 points in a game this season in the G League.
Saraf offered a glimpse of the production that he can offer the Nets with his effort on Monday. The organization was ecstatic to have the chance to draft him and will be eager to watch his continued development in the NBA and the G League.
