Dallas Mavericks phenom Cooper Flagg had his way during Tuesday’s 131-130 home win over the Denver Nuggets, showcasing his elite versatility.

Following his latest well-rounded performance, NBA fans took to social media to hail the 19-year-old, with several offering bold takes.

NBA Fans Laud Cooper Flagg After 33-Point Eruption Against Nuggets

Taking on the Western Conference’s third-seeded Nuggets (21-8), spearheaded by three-time MVP Nikola Jokić, Flagg stole the show, recording a game-high 33 points. The rookie forward added nine rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block, and a career-high four 3-pointers, shooting an efficient 14-for-21 overall (66.7%).

Flagg did his damage inside and out, including throwing down multiple dunks. Perhaps none were more impressive than his third-quarter poster slam over Denver forward Spencer Jones that put Dallas ahead 88-76.

The Mavericks led by as many as 21 points in the first half before the Nuggets stormed back to take their first lead in the fourth quarter. However, Flagg came through in the clutch, drilling a critical triple to extend his squad’s advantage to 126-121 with 3:15 remaining.

The 2025 No. 1 pick followed that up by hitting a floater to give Dallas a 128-123 edge with 2:38 left.

The Mavericks ultimately hung on for a one-point victory after Denver wing Peyton Watson’s game-winning corner 3-point attempt rimmed out at the final buzzer. Afterward, fans on X raved about Flagg’s continued ascension.

“Followed up his 2nd worst game with his 2nd best that’s MY GOATTT,” one fan said.

“Luka [Dončić] sacrificed for this,” another wrote.

“Not one of them ones, he’s THE ONE,” one user asserted.

Meanwhile, others boldly weighed in on Flagg’s standing among the rest of the league and the 2026 NBA Rookie of the Year race.

“First number 1 pick since LeBron [James] that’s actually gonna be a problem in the league,” one fan contended.

“Bolstering his case for coldest white boy in the league,” another opined.

“He is gonna be unanimous ROY,” one more chimed in.

Apart from Flagg’s heroics, Dallas star big man Anthony Davis chipped in 31 points as the duo combined for 64 points, edging out Jokić and his co-star Jamal Murray’s combined 60-point effort.

With the thrilling win, the Mavericks (12-19) snapped a two-game losing streak, inching closer to the West’s final play-in spot. They will look to build on their momentum during Thursday’s Christmas Day road clash against the Golden State Warriors (15-15).
