Basketball season is in full swing as all the Garland County schools go into Christmas Break.

LAKE HAMILTON

The Wolves have kept busy in the last couple weeks with back-to-back weekend tournaments in Paragould and Cabot. The boys go into the break off a loss to Sheridan but will look to bounce back December 29th against Nevada. They are currently third in the conference standings with an overall record of 7-5 and a 2-1 record in the 5A South. The girls team sits first in the conference with an overall record of 11-1 and a perfect 3-0 record in the 5A South. They are currently riding a 9-game win streak. They will next play Oak Grove on December 29.

LAKESIDE

The Lakeside Lady Rams are currently on a three game win streak since conference play started. They go into the break off a win over Hot Springs and they will not play until they face Pine Bluff on January 6. They sit at 6-4 overall and have a perfect 3-0 record in the 5A South. The Rams are sitting 4th in the 5A South with a 2-1 record against the 5A South and a 5-6 overall mark. Most recently they lost to Hot Springs but will look to rebound against Arkadelphia on December 27.

HOT SPRINGS

The Trojans are sitting at fifth in the conference with a 1-1 record in the 5A South and a 6-7 record overall. They most recently defeated the Rams and will play Cutter Morning Star on December 30. The Lady Trojans are 4-6 and 0-2 in the 5A South currently for an 8th place spot. They most recently lost to the Rams and will play the Wolves on January 6.

FOUNTAIN LAKE

The Lady Cobras have a 7-6 record at the break with no conference games played yet. They lost to McGehee on Monday but will look to bounce back December 29 against Emerson. The boys team beat McGehee on Monday to give them a 9-4 record with no conference games until January. They don’t play again until January 6 against Drew Central.

JESSIEVILLE

The Lions are 11-3 after a 4-game winning streak. They are also first in the 3A-5 conference with a 5-1 record in league play. They beat Atkins in the last game and will play Dequeen on December 29. The girls team is 4-11 and 2-4 in the 3A-5 after two straight wins. They beat Atkins to end the week and will play at home December 29 in the Larry Ray Memorial Tournament.

CUTTER MORNING STAR

The Lady Eagles are third in the 2A-7 with a 3-1 conference record despite a 5-9 overall record. They recently lost to East Poinsett County and will play again on January 3 against eStem. The boys are also 3-1 in the conference, sitting in second place, and have an 8-7 overall mark. The Eagles lost to Nashville on Monday and will play Hot Springs on December 30.

MOUNTAIN PINE

The Red Devils are sitting at 1-10 overall and 0-3 in the 2A-7. They lost to Conway on most recently and will play Foreman on January 6. The girls team is currently second in the 2A-7 with a perfect 3-0 mark in league play and an overall record of 4-5. They have won three in a row including a recent victory over Murfreesboro. Their next game will be January 6 against Foreman.
