Is former Boston Celtics shooting guard Ray Allen one of the greatest shooters of all time? The former University of Connecticut star is widely known as having one of the best forms for shooting from beyond the arc, and held the record for the most 3-point shots made in NBA history until he saw his record broken by Golden State Warriors legend Steph Curry.
But if you ask former Dubs sharpshooter in his own right, Klay Thompson, Curry’s teammate for most of his career, whether he thinks Jesus Shuttlesworth (a nickname of Allen’s from a role he played in the film ‘He Got Game’) should be counted among the game’s greatest long-distance marksmen, you will get an emphatic yes from the Dallas Mavericks vet.
The folks behind the “CLNS Media Boston Sports Network” YouTube channel put together a clip from their “Showtime with Coop” podcast featuring Thompson, and that topic of course came up. Check it out below to hear what they said about where Allen ought to be ranked among the best shooters in history.
