The Denver Nuggets are the 3rd seed in the Western Conference, and are looking like NBA title contenders. For them to win it all, health will be key. And in their recent narrow loss to the Dallas Mavericks, it looked like they might have lost one of their starters for the season. But the latest Denver injury update says otherwise.
Cam Johnson suffered an awkward fall during the Nuggets’ loss, and many feared he had suffered a severe knee injury. However, the outcome is not as bad as initially feared. Shams Charania shared that the actual injury Johnson has suffered is a ‘best-case scenario’ for Denver.

“Denver Nuggets forward Cam Johnson has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee and is expected to miss some time, sources tell ESPN,” Charania wrote on X. “Best case scenario as an MRI reveals no structural damage or major injury after a serious landing on his leg in Dallas.”
There were concerns about a ligament tear or a potential fracture in the initial stages. So this injury update will be music to Nuggets fans’ ears. Johnson has become a key piece for the team. A bone bruise is still cause for concern, but is unlikely to result in absence longer than two months.

Johnson is averaging nearly 12 points a game for the Nuggets while shooting over 42 percent from three-point range. The forward is thriving alongside Nikola Jokic and hopefully won’t be out for too long. The Nuggets are among the only real competitors for OKC in the West, and will need health on their side.
