The last thing anyone wants to see is another Joel Embiid knee injury.
The Sixers’ star center went down on the team’s first offensive possession of the second half. He was bumped into by Brooklyn Nets guard Terance Mann and fell to the floor appearing to be in a tremendous amount of pain, slamming the court while clutching his right knee. Mann sort of undercuts Embiid, though it didn’t appear malicious. Mann was called for a foul.
Embiid went straight back to the locker room. Andre Drummond checked in.
Embiid did emerge from the locker room and was standing with his teammates. He thankfully checked back in midway through the third.
We’ll have more updates if Embiid or team provide them postgame.
Embiid spoke postgame and briefly discussed how he’s feeling.
