Austin Reaves, Gabe Vincent, Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton have all missed games in recent days, and during Saturday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Luka Dončić suffered a leg contusion and didn’t play in the second half.
They have already faced the Suns twice this month, losing 125-108 on Dec. 1 and earning a 116-114 victory on Dec. 14 after blowing a late 20-point lead. Los Angeles has a 19-8 lead and is 1.5 games behind the second-place San Antonio Spurs and 1.5 games ahead of the sixth-place Houston Rockets.
With a 15-13 mark, Phoenix is in seventh place in the West. It has dropped six of its last nine games, but if its two previous games versus the Lakers were any indication, it isn’t exactly a doormat team.
