The New York Knicks’ 126-124 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers was far from the only thing Karl-Anthony Towns had to celebrate on Christmas Day.

Towns and Jordyn Woods announced on Instagram that they were engaged with a series of photographs and a caption reading “Marry Christmas.”

Erin Crabtree and Miranda Siwak of US Weekly noted the couple dated for five years prior to Thursday’s engagement.

They were friends for years and started dating in 2020.

The couple also made headlines last month when Woods gifted Towns the same type of car his mother had when he was a child:

On the court, Towns and the Knicks improved to 21-9 with Thursday’s victory. He finished with a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson led the way with 34 points as New York overcame a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to escape with the dramatic win.

The Knicks are in second place in the Eastern Conference standings and appear primed for a deep playoff run.

But even if they fall short of a championship, Towns can at least take solace knowing he’s getting a different type of ring thanks to his engagement.
