ATLANTA — Tyler Kolek had no pregame shooting time booked, no expectation of playing that night in Orlando.
So Kolek hit the weight room for some arm reps, just searching for ways to be productive after three straight DNPs and an understanding he was firmly out of the rotation.
Rick Brunson, the Knicks assistant coach, brought surprising news.
“Rick came over to me and was like, ‘Get ready,’ ” Kolek said in an interview with The Post. “And I’m like, ‘Are you talking to me?’ Cause I didn’t play for two weeks.”
