Amid their biggest win of the season on Friday against the Detroit Pistons, the Utah Jazz played without Ace Bailey for the entire second half due to a hip injury.

The Jazz announced Bailey suffered a strained left hip flexor during their 131-129 victory. There was no official update on how long Bailey will be out of action after the game.

Utah will play the second night of a back-to-back on Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs at Frost Bank Center.

Brice Sensabaugh took Bailey’s spot in the lineup, scoring 15 of his 20 points after the intermission.

Bailey was scoreless in 11 minutes against the Pistons prior to suffering the injury. He got off to a slow start in his rookie season but had been playing well after being inserted into the starting lineup on Nov. 10.

In 20 games as a starter prior to Friday night, Bailey averaged 12.9 points on 46.8 percent shooting (38.3 percent from three) and 3.3 rebounds per contest.

The Jazz snapped their four game losing streak against the East-leading Pistons. Their next home game is against the Boston Celtics on Dec. 30, followed by a four game road trip starting on New Year’s Day.
