The Hawks haven’t had much luck lately, and that trend could continue with the Knicks coming to town ready to take care of business.

The Atlanta Hawks are spiraling with five straight losses and face another tough test tonight when they host the New York Knicks.

The Atlantic Division-leading Knicks have been one of the NBA’s most dominant teams at both ends of the court, which is why I’m picking the visitors to win this one comfortably.

I’ll break down the pick in my NBA picks and Knicks vs. Hawks predictions for Saturday, December 27.

Knicks vs Hawks prediction

Knicks vs Hawks best bet: Knicks -6.5 (-115)

The month of December has not been kind to the Atlanta Hawks, who are in the midst of a five-game skid while also dropping nine of their last 11 contests.

Defense has been the main issue for Atlanta, which has allowed a whopping 132.6 ppg during its losing streak.

The New York Knicks are trending the opposite way with a 13-3 record over their last 16 games. New York has been solid at both ends of the court, ranking tied for fourth in ppg (120.3) and eighth in papg (113.3).

The Knicks have covered the spread 58.1% of the time this season (18-13-0), the sixth-best mark in the NBA. Meanwhile, the Hawks have the eighth-worst ATS ranking in the league at just 43.8% (14-18-0).

Give me the visitors to cover tonight.

Jalen Brunson is averaging over 30 ppg in December and has hit that mark in six of his last nine outings. The Knicks guard should have a big night vs. a Hawks team that isn’t interested in playing much defense.

The Hawks (56.3%) and Knicks (54.8%) are both among the top 10 in percentage of games that hit the Over this season. With Atlanta’s defense in its current state, this should be another high-scoring game.
