The Oklahoma City Thunder held practice on Saturday, Dec. 27. They are amid a two-day break. A much-needed one at that. After a 117-102 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Christmas, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander said the reigning NBA champion needed some time to look in the mirror.

Alas, the regular season moves on. The Thunder will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. They have three more games left in their current four-game homestand that runs through New Year’s.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault and Aaron Wiggins talked to the local media after practice. Daigneault reflected on their two-game losing streak against the Spurs. Wiggins talked about what Isaiah Joe’s outside shooting does for their offense.

Mark Daigneault on Tyrese Maxey: “He’s one of those high pickup guys that you gotta go play because of the way he can shoot the ball. He’s a dynamic finisher.” pic.twitter.com/z0OjuRlCOn

Mark Daigneault on Nikola Topic doing pregame warmups while still going through cancer treatment: “He’s doing a great job navigating what’s obviously a tough circumstance. Despite the fact your body goes through hell in that situation, he’s still conditioning himself.” pic.twitter.com/hjWH4ve8AO

Mark Daigneault on reflecting on their 2 recent losses to the Spurs: “I thought our offensive process live and looking at the film, was better at home than at San Antonio. At San Antonio, we didn’t score the ball very well because we didn’t get good shots. Here, we got good ones… pic.twitter.com/6at9amej6Z

Mark Daigneault on Paul George’s time in OKC: “Aesthetically pleasing offensive game. The ball just goes in the net nicer when he shoots it. He’s a great offensive player that also plays defense.” pic.twitter.com/t1m49iMlpX

Aaron Wiggins on OKC rarely going through losing streaks: “Something in our organization we pride ourselves on regardless of record at all is the 0-0 mindset.” pic.twitter.com/4M9ySUQDe5

Aaron Wiggins on Isaiah Joe: “I think one of the things he brings to the table is gravity alone. His movement on and off the ball, with or without plays, draws attention and allows other guys to get going.” pic.twitter.com/3DEqNJutDP
