The Indiana Pacers signed former Wisconsin Badger center Micah Potter on Friday morning, and later that night was thrown into the lineup to face off against the Boston Celtics. The Pacers ultimately lost 140-122, but Potter, with no practice under his belt for Indiana, delivered a perfect debut.
Potter only played 18 minutes, but in those limited minutes, he made every shot he took. He scored nine total points by going 2/2 from the field, 1/1 from behind the 3-point line, and he went a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line.
Micah Potter got 18 minutes tonight for the Pacers.

Potter checked into the game and in the first defensive possession, swatted Derrick White’s layup to produce his only block of the game. His first points game in the third quarter when he made his first two free throws. He would later score the rest of his points in the fourth quarter.
It was a great debut for the former Wisconsin Badger. He has bounced around the NBA a little bit, playing for Miami, Utah, and San Antonio’s G League teams. He has seen very limited NBA action before tonight’s Indiana game. He saw three games with the Detroit Pistons and jumped up and down from the Utah Jazz and the G-League over the last three seasons, playing in a total of 38 games.
The last time he had a perfect game with at least three shots taken was when he actually played against Indiana last season as part of the Jazz. He played 24 minutes, 4-4 from the field and 1-1 from three. He didn’t attempt any free throws in that game.
It’s unclear what kind of contract Potter signed with the Pacers, as Indiana has not yet announced the deal’s details.
