The Los Angeles Lakers continue to be short-handed as they look to end their recent slump that has resulted in six losses during their last 10 games. Austin Reaves recently returned from a calf strain, only to be diagnosed with a Grade 2 gastrocnemius strain that will force him to sit for the next several weeks.
After losing 119-96 to the Houston Rockets on Christmas Day, they will take the court at Crypto.com Arena again on Sunday to face the Sacramento Kings. While the Kings have an 8-23 record, they do have several players who can do damage offensively.

In addition to Reaves, Gabe Vincent will miss Sunday’s game for Los Angeles due to a back strain. It will be the fifth straight game Vincent has sat out. Backup center Jaxson Hayes is also listed as doubtful with ankle soreness.
After Sunday’s game, L.A. will host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, and that contest will be a very stiff challenge, especially given the team’s injuries. Detroit is in first place in the Eastern Conference with a 24-7 record and is third in fast-break points per game and points off turnovers per game. The Lakers have been struggling to limit their opponents’ transition points and points off turnovers lately.
