Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving has yet to play a game this season as he continues to rehab from a torn ACL, with no timetable set for his return.
In his absence, the Mavericks have struggled, currently sitting outside the NBA playoff picture with a 12–20 record.

Since Irving suffered the injury, little has gone right for Dallas. The Mavericks’ direction and Irving’s future remain uncertain, particularly if the organization elects to rebuild.
Before the setback, Irving remained one of the league’s most impactful players. In 2024–25, the 33-year-old veteran averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 47.3% from the field and 40.1% from beyond the arc across 50 appearances.
His ability to score efficiently and create offense kept him among the NBA’s elite guards, and his absence has been felt sharply in Dallas.

Yet even while sidelined, Irving has continued to make his presence felt off the court. On Friday, he announced the launch of a new youth basketball initiative called the Uncle Drew Circuit, a tribute to his well-known nickname.
In an Instagram post, Irving wrote, “The game just changed. 🤞 It’s official. The Uncle Drew Circuit, founded by Kyrie Irving, is here. The Uncle Drew Circuit is a youth basketball circuit founded by Kyrie Irving, built around craft, passion, and love for the game. It’s a series of competitive tournaments across key cities, focused on building players, mindset, and a lifelong love for basketball.”

The project reflects Irving’s commitment to giving back to the sport and investing in the next generation of players.
