It’s the first of two pro hoops doubleheader games this week on Coast 2 Coast Tuesday, with tipoff time set for 8 p.m. ET from the Grizzlies’ FedExForum arena in Memphis. Though Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been sidelined with a recent ankle sprain, one of the league’s best defensive bigs, Jaren Jackson Jr., should be ready to rock as Embiid leads the 76ers into town for the first of only two meetings this NBA regular season between the Sixers and the Grizzlies.
The two squads will trade home-court venues when they face each other later this season for a second matchup on March 10. By then, both teams should have a clearer picture of where they stand — not only head-to-head, but in their respective divisional races ahead of the impending NBA postseason.
