PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team on Wednesday, becoming the first Trail Blazer to earn the honor since Theo Ratliff in the 2003-04 season.
Camara, in just his second NBA season, emerged as one of the league’s top defenders during the 2024-25 campaign. He led the NBA in both offensive fouls drawn (90) and charges taken (31), while ranking second in total defensive stops (257).
His 31 drawn charges were nine more than any other player and surpassed the season total of 21 NBA teams. His 90 offensive fouls drawn also topped the league by a wide margin — 34 more than the next closest player.
In February, Camara was named the Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month. He finished the season with 116 steals, 277 defensive rebounds and 50 blocks — joining just three other NBA players to reach those numbers this season. He is the first Trail Blazer to do so since Clifford Robinson in 1993-94.
Camara’s 116 steals ranked ninth in the NBA, and his 62 games with at least one steal were tied for fourth most in the league.
The 24-year-old is the 15th player in franchise history to earn a spot on an All-Defensive Team.
