1. Nevada men’s basketball continues rampage through ‘Pac-12’ teams
Nevada men’s basketball continued its rampage through “Pac-12” teams with Tuesday night’s 75-62 win at Colorado State. That was the Wolf Pack’s third win in its last four games over a current or future Pac-12 teams, each coming by double-figures. Nevada also has downed Washington State (78-64) and Boise State (81-66) during that stretch. The win over Colorado State came despite stars Tayshawn Comer and Elijah Price combining to shoot 2-of-17 from the field. Tyler Rolison stepped up with 21 big points off the bench with Chuck Bailey III (15) and Vaughn Weems (12) both hitting double figures. The Rams entered the game first in the nation in 3-point shooting but went 6-of-23 from beyond the arc and made only 18-of-29 free throws after ranking second in the nation in that category. Nevada moved to 10-3 overall, 2-0 in the MW and improved 11 spots in the NET rankings, hitting a season-best 61st. Here is our recap of the game and post-game interviews.
2. Wolf Pack women’s basketball returns to action at Boise State
Nevada women’s basketball returns to action after a 10-day break between games when it plays at Boise State today at 1 p.m. looking to snap a six-game skid. After starting the season 4-2, Nevada has dropped six in a row to fall to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the MW with conference-opening losses to Colorado State and Air Force. Boise State enters the game 9-4 overall but 0-2 in league play with losses to New Mexico and San Diego State. Nevada and Boise State are two of the three winless teams in league play in the MW, with San Jose State being the other.
3. Three-time former Nevada assistant Angus McClure lands at Sac State
Angus McClure, who has had three stints at Nevada as an assistant coach, has been hired as Sacramento State’s associate head coach and offensive line coach. McClure was an assistant at Nevada in 1996, 2018-19 and 2023. He played for Sacramento State and was previously a Hornets assistant coach from 1997-2003. McClure has also had stints at UCLA, Cal, Nebraska, Buffalo and most recently worked for Kansas. He joins Sac State’s new staff led by Alonzo Carter. Also, former Nevada special teams coordinator Joe Bolden was promoted Tuesday to defensive coordinator at Southern Miss. Bolden spent one season at Nevada in 2022 before taking a job at Tulsa in 2023. He joined Southern Miss as special teams coordinator in 2025.
