UAB senior Yaxel Lendeborg is among the players who will reportedly work out with the Sacramento Kings on Friday, according to Andrew Marden of FOX 40.
Lendeborg was the AAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, averaging 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 steals. He ranked third in the country in rebounds (420) and seventh in player efficiency rating (29.8).
The 6-foot-9 forward registered 16 20-point games and set the single-season program record with 20 double-doubles. He was one of 11 players to average a double-double.
Joining Lendeborg in the workout will be Tennessee guard Zakai Zeigler, East Carolina guard RJ Felton, Ben Henshall of the Perth Wildcats, Mississippi State forward Cameron Matthews and Oklahoma forward Jalon Moore. It is the second known workout for the Kings this draft cycle.
The Kings currently have only one draft selection this year, the 42nd pick in the second round. Their first-round pick was conveyed to the Atlanta Hawks (No. 13) as part of the Kevin Huerter trade, and their second-round pick (No. 45) was conveyed to the Chicago Bulls.
Without a first-round pick, the Kings are likely prioritizing bringing in players projected to go in their range or those prospects who may go undrafted. They have also brought in the likes of Villanova guard Wooga Poplar, Missouri guard Tamar Bates and Kentucky center Amari Williams.
The 2025 NBA draft will occur June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
