Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel made history last month by becoming the first former college teammates to win Rookie of the Month in their respective conferences. The two former Duke stars liked it so much that they went and did it again for the month of December.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Flagg put up 23.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per game for the Dallas Mavericks in 13 games last month, including a career-high 42 points on December 15 in an overtime loss to the Utah Jazz.

Playing for the Charlotte Hornets after being the team’s first-round selection and fourth overall in last year’s draft, Knueppel averaged 20.8 points, 4.7 assists and 4.2 rebounds during December. On December 22, in a matchup against Cleveland, he became the fastest player ever to reach 100 three-pointers, doing so in only 29 games.

Flagg and Knueppel are set to meet up on Dec. 29 when the Hornets visit the Mavericks, while Dallas comes to Charlotte on March 3.Â
