Keagan Smith details his best NBA player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat.
Perhaps the best matchup of the first Saturday NBA slate of 2026 comes in the early window at 5 p.m. EST. The Miami Heat (19-15) welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves (21-13) to South Beach for an inter-conference clash that pits two playoff-caliber opponents against each other. Bam Adebayo, Norm Powell, Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle all take the floor for this one, setting up an awesome appetizer before the rest of the schedule gets going a little bit later.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Minnesota is a -2.5 favorite with -148 odds to win on the Moneyline. The game total is set at 238.5 combined points.
Here are a couple of the best Timberwolves vs. Heat prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for this Saturday matinee.
Best Timberwolves vs. Heat player prop bets
Naz Reid over 6.5 rebounds (-104)
An NBA cult hero, Naz Reid is putting forth another quality campaign as a key piece for an excellent Timberwolves roster. The 2023-24 Sixth Man of the Year averages 14.0 PPG along with a career-high 6.3 rebounds, the latter of which will prove crucial in this player prop bet. While the Heat are one of the league’s best rebounding teams and have recently turned to using both Bam Adebayo and Kel’el Ware in the starting frontcourt, that only means the Wolves will have to rely even more on their own big men to crash the glass. Reid has gone over his rebounds prop line in four of his last five contests as well as 18 of his 34 games overall. While his share of minutes usually remains capped to an extent, he could very well see additional run against this big Miami rotation and will be called upon plenty to contribute on the boards. I expect him to see a heavier dose of around 30 minutes and pull down at least seven rebounds with the additional work thanks to his 6-foot-9 frame and impressive athleticism. Plus, the Heat play at one of the fastest paces in the NBA, likely meaning more chances for Reiz to get over this 6.5-board mark.
Norman Powell under 2.5 three-pointers made (+121)
This is a prop pick that could go either way, but it comes in at plus money for a reason. Norman Powell has been a sensation in his first season with Miami, averaging a career-best 24.2 PPG while shooting 40.5% from three-point range. His game continues to age like a fine wine in his age-32 campaign, but tonight may provide a slight bump in the road. The Timberwolves rank 12th in opponent PPG allowed and also limit shooters from beyond the arc — Minnesota gives up the fourth-fewest three-point attempts (35.0) while conceding the seventh-lowest shooting percentage on those shots (35.1%). With Tyler Herro (toe) still out for the Heat, Powell should see plenty of shot attempts. The quality of such attempts may not be the highest though, especially since the Wolves’ defense can key on him a little more without Herro on the floor. Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels should prove problematic as the primary matchups for Powell, causing him to stay under 2.5 made threes.
