The Raptors fell 106-103 to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, dropping to 2-1 on their five-game homestand. The group trailed for most of the contest and almost sent it to overtime, but a 3-pointer by Brandon Ingram at the buzzer was overturned because it wasn’t released in time.
Ingram led the Raptors with 30 points and eight rebounds, Immanuel Quickley had 20 points and Scottie Barnes registered his second triple-double with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Barnes is one of 12 players in the NBA with multiple triple-doubles this season.
The Hawks are coming off a 111-99 road win over the New York Knicks on Friday. After trailing by nine points in the first quarter, they outscored the Knicks the rest of the way and led by as many as 26 points to post consecutive wins for the first time since Nov. 28-30.
Onyeka Okongwu paced the Hawks with 23 points and nine rebounds, Nickeil Alexander-Walker tallied 23 points and Jalen Johnson added 18 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Atlanta became the first team to hold New York to under 100 points this season.
The Hawks and Raptors are meeting for the first game of a back-to-back in Canada. Toronto won the first two matchups this season and has taken four straight overall.
