The Boston Celtics overcame a rough shooting night to defeat the Chicago Bulls on Monday night, 115-101.
Boston shot just 40 percent from the floor, but Anfernee Simons (27 points) and Payton Pritchard (21 points) helped make up for the uncharacteristic performance by shooting a combined 12-for-21 from 3-point range. Simons tallied all 27 of his points in the second half.
The Celtics improved to 23-12 on the season and leapfrogged the New York Knicks for second place in the Eastern Conference standings. They will look to win their fifth straight game when they welcome the Denver Nuggets to TD Garden on Wednesday.
