PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball had a starter show up on the availability report for Wednesday night’s game against Arizona State.

Starting center Keba Keita showed up on the day-before availability sheet as No. 9 BYU gets set to host the reeling Sun Devils, who are on a three-game losing streak.

Keba Keita is “Doubtful” for the BYU vs. Arizona State game

Per the Big 12’s availability reporting, players who are classified as “Doubtful” have a 25% chance of playing in the next game.

It’s undisclosed what has led to Keita’s “Doubtful” status. The senior center had an impressive double-double of 11 points and 16 rebounds in 27 minutes of action in Saturday’s win over Kansas State.

After the game, Keita, along with BYU head coach Kevin Young and star freshman AJ Dybantsa, spoke to the media in Manhattan in the postgame press conference.

If Keita doesn’t play on Wednesday night against ASU, BYU has options to take his spot.

Options at center for BYU basketball

Former G-League Abdullah “Biddo” Ahmed had three blocked shots in relief of Keita off the bench. Also, senior center Mihailo Boskovic, who can be a stretch five for BYU, or Khadim Mboup.

No one else on BYU’s availability report was a surprise.

Meanwhile, Arizona State has seven players listed on their availability report as “OUT.” Among the seven is former BYU player Marcus Adams Jr.

Adams is in his first season with the Sun Devils, after spending last year at Cal State Northridge, and before that at BYU, where he appeared in one game during the Cougars’ first season as a Big 12 program.

One notable player that isn’t listed on ASU’s availability report is 6-foot-11 starter Santiago Trouet. The former San Diego Torero missed ASU’s game against Colorado on Saturday in Tempe.
