DETROIT – The No. 1-seeded Detroit Pistons of the NBA’s Eastern Conference will be without All-Star guard Cade Cunningham for their home matchup against the Chicago Bulls.
It was announced on Wednesday (Jan. 7) that Cunningham was downgraded to questionable on ESPN before he ultimately was ruled out with a right wrist contusion.
Cunningham was listed as probable ahead of the Pistons’ 2025 first-round playoff rematch against the New York Knicks on Jan. 5, when they went on to defeat them 121-90 inside Little Caesars Arena.
In the matchup, Cunningham dropped 27 points and had 13 assists in the statement victory as Detroit jumped to a four-game lead in the conference, improving to 27-9.
To make matters worse, former Michigan Wolverines stars Caris LeVert (left knee tendinopathy) and Duncan Robinson (left calf contusion) are both listed as “probable for the 7 p.m. matchup vs. Chicago.
The Pistons will also be without Tobias Harris (left hip sprain) and Jalen Duren (right ankle sprain).
Look for Jaden Ivey to reinsert his presence in the matchup as head coach J.B. Bickerstaff adjust’s his starting lineup ahead of the matchup.
