Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is out due to a right calf contusion against the Phoenix Suns on Jan. 7 (7 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network) because of a right calf contusion.

Morant was listed as questionable on the initial injury report. Later, Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo said that he would be a gametime decision.

This will be Morant’s third consecutive missed game due to the injury. He first appeared hobbled during a Jan. 2 game against the Los Angeles Lakers, but he finished the matchup with 16 points and 11 assists.

This isn’t the first time Morant has dealt with a calf injury. He suffered a Grade 1 right calf strain in a Nov. 15 matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He missed 10 games and returned on Dec. 12.

Morant has now missed 19 games this season. In 18 appearances, he’s averaging 19 points and 7.6 assists.
