The Toronto Raptors are continuing to search for help in the centre position, and may have locked in on their ideal target.

As Jakob Poeltl continues to deal with recurring back issues, the Raps have been searching the trade market for a centre, and have been linked on several occasions to three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis.

Sabonis, 29, has logged just 11 games with the Sacramento Kings due to a knee injury. Prior to suffering the injury in mid November, he was averaging 17.2 points along with 12.3 rebounds.

Despite having an additional two seasons remaining on his contract, the Kings, who sit 14th in the Western Conference with an 8-29 record, are receiving interest from several teams on the 6-foot-10 centre.

Acquiring Sabonis wouldn’t come cheap for the Raptors, who would likely be forced to part ways with RJ Barrett and more in order to make the deal come to fruition.

Regardless of whether or not Sabonis gets moved, the Raptors, who are looking to get into the playoffs for the first time since the 2021-22 season, are expected to be big-time buyers heading into the trade deadline.
