Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns pulled back the curtain on his surprise proposal to his longtime girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, at Christmas.
During a Tuesday appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Towns shared the special meaning behind Woods’ massive emerald-cut diamond ring, which is estimated to be at least 10 carats.
“It was a surprise. We’d been dating for five-and-a-half years up to that point,” Towns, 30, said of Woods, 28.

“… I wanted her to have a ring that shows that bond and relationship that we’ve built, and yeah, I want everyone to know she’s mine.”
Towns gushed that Woods was “ecstatic” over the ring, adding that her mom, Elizabeth Woods, gave her stamp of approval.
“I think I did well,” Towns said. “… Her mom approves. I think that’s the most important thing.”
Towns emphasized their strong bond.
“We found a way, five-and-a-half years, ebbs and flows of the relationship, as anyone would know,” Towns said.
“I think the most important thing … we always chose each other. You know, through the bad and the good, we always found ourselves choosing each other. I think that’s what makes for a strong bond, a strong relationship.”

The five-time NBA All-Star and the fashion entrepreneur announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Dec. 25 after he proposed at Overstory, a rooftop bar in New York City.
“Marry Christmas 🎄❤️💍,” the couple wrote in the caption.
Towns and Woods, who met through mutual friends, celebrated five years together last May.
They were best friends for years before they became romantic during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Woods is a staple at Knicks games on celebrity row at Madison Square Garden.
