The Philadelphia 76ers will have plenty of options to choose from with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. With a roster in need of an injection of youth, the Sixers could absolutely use a player with a star power at a young age in order to help the roster move forward.

A popular option for the Sixers has been Rutgers star Ace Bailey, as he is widely regarded as the third-best prospect in this draft behind Duke phenom Cooper Flagg and teammate at Rutgers, Dylan Harper. Therefore, it would make sense for Philadelphia to select Bailey.

An NBA scout sat down with HoopsHype and gave a full report on Bailey and what he brings to the table:

The shot selection at Rutgers last year left a lot to be desired. Part of that is because he played on a bad team and had to take a lot of tough shots. But when they asked him about shot selection during the pre-draft interviews, he said, ‘Well, I work on those shots, so they’re not really bad shots to me.’ I don’t know if that’s true. Especially since he’s six-seven and not six-ten anymore, he’s really going to have to show that he’s made strides as a playmaker. One assist per game isn’t going to cut it. I know he was on a bad team, but that’s just not going to cut it.

One of Bailey’s biggest criticisms throughout this draft process thus far has been his shot selection. He took a lot of tough shots with the Scarlet Knights, and if the Sixers were to draft him, that would need to be stopped at the NBA level. The scout also brings up a good point about his passing as well as that is another aspect of his game that needs to be developed as time moves on in his career.
