Dyson Daniels has been named the 2024–25 Kia NBA Most Improved Player, becoming the second Hawk to earn the honor (Alan Henderson won it in 1997–98). In his third season, and first with Atlanta, the 22-year-old Australian guard averaged career highs of 14.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and a league-leading 3.01 steals per game. He also led the NBA in total steals and deflections and became just the fifth player in history to average at least 14/5/4/3 in a season.

Daniels improved across the board, boosting his scoring by +8.3 ppg and steals by +1.62 spg. He finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting and was twice named Eastern Conference Defensive Player of the Month.

New York Knicks’ forward OG Anunoby, known for his elite defense and versatility, received one second-place vote in the MIP balloting. Anunoby averaged 18 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 74 games this season, up from 14.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists the previous campaign.
