Area Girls Prep Basketball Report for Saturday, Jan. 10
In girls basketball action Friday, Salmen used a decisive first quarter to defeat H.L. Bourgeois 43-31 at home for its 15th straight win.
The Spartans led 16-5 after one quarter and 24-12 at halftime. It was 31-19 heading to the fourth quarter.
Junior Kendal Thomas led Salmen with 19 points and five steals while senior Akayla Mcmooain had 14 points and five rebounds. Senior Bryelle Major added nine points with 10 rebounds.
Salmen (16-1) returns to action today at home against Central Lafourche at 2 p.m.
The Braves (14-4) travel to John Curtis Christian Monday.
