The last time Creighton and St. John’s met, the Big East title was at stake.
It marked the pinnacle of the Rick Pitino era with the Red Storm to date, with the Johnnies seizing control of the conference cementing itself as a title contender.
But as St. John’s and the Bluejays meet again Saturday, the Johnnies have struggled to replicate that success from last season.
It’ll mark the first meeting between the pair of teams, with the Red Storm entering off a win over Butler and Creighton — which has won five of its last six games — trying to build on a victory over Villanova.
