Entering Game 5 of their NBA playoffs series against the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry needed just two assists to surpass basketball legend Bob Cousy for No. 18 on the all-time playoff assists list.

Sure enough, it didn’t take long for Curry to get thoses assists during Wednesday’s game. Early in the first quarter, he notched his second assist with a pass to second-year guard Brandin Podziemski for a 3-pointer. By the end of the opening frame, he already had four assists.

With that said, he officially broke Cousy’s tally and is now behind No. 17 Jerry West, who had 970 postseason assists in his career.

The Warriors, for their part, were quick to react to Curry’s milestone and took to social media to celebrate their superstar.

“Dime by dime,” the Dubs wrote in a now deleted post on X.

Steph Curry has been making postseason history since the 2025 NBA playoffs started. In Game 3 of the Rockets series, he cracked the top 10 of the all-time playoff scoring list, as he toppled Tony Parker from the top 10.
