TORONTO — The Philadelphia 76ers had some injury issues while taking on the Toronto Raptors over the weekend to end their road trip. Roughly 10 minutes before tip off on Sunday, George was ruled out due to left knee soreness after being announced that he was going to be in the starting lineup.

George then returned in Monday’s win and had 15 points, six assists, and four rebounds in 29 minutes. He was part of a big offensive effort to help the Sixers get the job done and earn a split on the back-to-back with the Raptors on the road.

Afterward, George gave an update on his health and why he missed Sunday’s loss.

“Yeah, it was better today (Monday),” he said after the win. “Yesterday (Sunday), I think just the cold weather. It just got stiff on me. I tried to go out there, warm up, shoot, but I just couldn’t do much. So, today, I made it an effort to kinda go into the sauna, spend some time in there, and it worked out for me. I felt a bit better. My knee felt better and I was good to go.”

The left knee has been bothersome for George during his stint in Philadelphia. He had an arthroscopic procedure in the offseason to clean up the knee and make sure everything was good to go for this current season. As he continues to move forward, he will continue to take care of the knee every day in an effort to be available on a nightly basis for the Sixers.
