Bryan Armetta breaks down Tuesday’s five-game featured NBA slate to find three undervalued players to slot into your lineups.

A five-game, ten-team featured NBA DFS slate is on tap for Tuesday. That gives fantasy managers plenty of options when building their lineups. Superstars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama are all expected to take the floor.

With that being said, winning in fantasy basketball takes more than just big names. Grabbing a few low-cost, high-upside players goes a long way. Which lesser-known options should you target tonight? Here are three to consider in DFS and season-long fantasy formats.

SF/PF Spencer Jones, Denver Nuggets at NOP ($4,800)

The Nuggets are making it work without Nikola Jokic (knee), winning three of their last four games. Jamal Murray ($9,800) and Aaron Gordon ($6,500) have done an admirable job of leading the offense over the past two weeks. However, the team’s improved depth has also played a major role. One of the more unlikely names to emerge is Spencer Jones. The former undrafted free agent has impressed this season, gradually earning more minutes. Over his last ten games, the forward is averaging 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 steals.

Jones is a jack of all trades, capable of chipping in on a number of different categories. For DFS purposes, that’s promising. It helps that the Nuggets will take on one of the NBA’s worst squads on Tuesday. The Pelicans are allowing the third-most points (122.4) and fourth-most rebounds (56.0) per game to opponents. In addition, New Orleans has given up the fourth-most fantasy points per game to small forwards. Given the amount of touches up for grabs in Denver, Jones should have his hands full tonight.

PG/SG Jordan Goodwin, Phoenix Suns at MIA ($4,600)

The Suns are one of the NBA’s biggest surprises, on track for a postseason appearance after trading away Kevin Durant ($8,900). Outside of Devin Booker ($8,700), Phoenix lacks star power. That doesn’t matter when you have one of the Western Conference’s deepest rosters. Jordan Goodwin isn’t a household name, but the guard is a stabilizing presence off of the bench. Through 36 games, the veteran is putting up 9.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals (21.6 FPTS).

Despite lackluster shooting (40% FG), Goodwin remains a viable fantasy asset due to his all-around game. Following a dismal one-of-nine shooting night on Sunday, he’s due for some positive regression. The Heat operate at the NBA’s fastest pace on offense. Unsurprisingly, Miami has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing point guards. Goodwin has delivered a 30+ fantasy point performance in four of his last nine outings. A similar stat line could be in the cards on Tuesday.

C Zeke Nnaji, Denver Nuggets at NOP ($4,300)

Let’s head back to the bayou, where the Nuggets are searching for a road win. As previously mentioned, Nikola Jokic won’t be in action tonight. Taking the reigns at center will likely be Zeke Nnaji. The former first-round pick hasn’t lived up to his pre-draft hype. Still, the sixth-year pro has shown some promise when given additional playing time. Over his last four games, all without Jokic, Nnaji is averaging 14.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks on 26.3 minutes.

Tonight presents a golden opportunity for the big man. New Orleans is allowing the third-most points in the paint (54.2) and fourth-most rebounds (56.0) per game. Unsurprisingly, the Pels have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing centers. In addition to Jokic, fellow big Jonas Valanciunas (calf) is also sidelined for Denver. That leaves virtually no internal competition for Nnaji at the five. Keeping that in mind, the 25-year-old is a quality low-cost, high-upside option.
