Britain Backus

Year: Freshman
Career overview: Backus was a star at Lowry High School where she played basketball, soccer and track and field. She helped the Buckaroos win state titles in 2022 and 2023 and was a three-time all-state honoree. Backus’ father played for Rick’s College with a sister playing for College of Southern Nevada. Backus picked Nevada after being recruited by College of Southern Idaho, Utah State Eastern and College of Southern Nevada. During her freshman season, the 5-foot-7 Backus has tallied 28 points, 12 rebounds, 11 steals and three assists in 187 minutes while making 10-of-38 shots (26.3 percent), including 4-of-21 threes (19 percent).
